LIfe in USA
Day 1 in USA
It is a tiring day. The first time I boarded such long flight. 4 hours from Singapore to Taipei, transit and rested for around 2 hours, then boarded from Taipei to san Francisco for nearly 12 hours, what a long journey it was. After reaching San Francisco at 5 something, we needed to book a hotel near the airport because our flight would be at 11 am in the next morning. So we just stayed a night in Howard Johnson, costs us around US150 for 2 rooms, each one pays 20 bucks. Then we took bus 292 to downtown, San Francisco city, it was around 9 oclock…so most of the shops are closed. We just entered any western shop and had our dinner. One simple beef burger costs US5.69.( extremely expensive)..well, this was the firsgt night we spent our dinner in usa, so it may be it was an exception..hope that I will not spend more than 10 bucks on food perday…It was really expensive..

Day 2 in USA
Boarded a domestic flight to salt lake city. It was kind of suburb area..quite undeveloped actually, the domestic flight was very small, this was the smallest flight that I had ever boarded. After that, we met Jaimei in the airport, and I was assigned to be a food operator, tomolo we had a orientation at 9am,so I have to go to sleep now so that I can get up early. The hostel here is quite ok..but the onli bad thing is that we cannot access to internet, still do not have wireless…
Day 3 in USA
we went to salt lake city today!!!haha!! the most attracting part is the temple square.it is a church..we saw quite a number of bride and bridegroom. They were having wedding in that church. We were guided by some sisters in that church to take a small tour around the temple square..nice tour!!!
the salt lake city is different from odgen(the place we stay),it is no longer a suburb area but downtown...well, we were spotted as alien for them...because it was very obvious that we were the only asian in that city..i think it is not common for them because utah is not a tourist area..some may ask us,"what u guys doing here? i mean , why utah?"..what a funny question..we ourselves also dunno how to answer..i mean y utah?? y lagoon park??haha!!!

Day 4 in USA
We start working today..the day that we longed for because we had already run out of money. I worked as a food operator in Arby’s fast food restaurant. It is something like Mc or Burger King outlets but we couldn’t find it in Malaysia or Singapore. Von and I did in the same restaurant while Esther and Pei Ru did in another restaurant which is the same job. Our job is not to serve the customer but to prepare the burger, we did on back site of the kitchen. It was quite fun. We used the machine to slice off the beef , put the beef on top of the burger then wrap it. That’s it!! A simple regular burger had been prepared. But there are nearly 10 types of burger. Some with cheese, some with mustard, some with lettuce, some with different inches of bread….sometimes will feel quite confusing….well, I did wrong once!!haha!!!! who cares!! ^ ^
After that, we cook for our dinner. We added corn, cabbages and carrots to make soup. It was not very nice but still ok, better had dinner outside because it was really expensive.
At night, i watched meteor garden again!! i still like to watch it!!it is quite boring staying in ogden, but frankly, the scenery here is breathtaking..we are surrounded by all the mountains and hills...every early in the morning,i have an impulse to take photos, to catch the prettiest view.^^

Day 5 in USA
Early in the morning, after having breakfast, we went to library to surf net. On the way to library, it was very cold. The temperature was 48 degree Celsius.
After we went to do our social security card. after that, we went back and cook for our dinner..we cooked porridge..it was not very nice but healthy..i ate a lot of instant food here because there was nothing much to eat..only fast food restaurant selling burgers...all the way burgers...nothing other than that!!!sigh!!!worse than singapore and more expensive than singpore....ipoh is the best!!!i miss ipoh food...i miss mum's food...
